Getting started

Do I need to download an app? Who can use it, and on what devices?

No download. Kaikouqian is a web app: open it in the browser on your phone or computer, and you can add it to your phone's home screen. We suggest Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android and computers. Browsers built into apps such as WeChat, Xiaohongshu and Douyin often can't use the microphone; a note at the top of the page shows how to switch. Kaikouqian is for people aged 18 or over.

Check your spam folder first; a code lasts 10 minutes. Still nothing? Write to hello@kaikouqian.com with the email you signed up with. Google sign-in is often blocked inside app browsers: try again in Safari or Chrome.

The microphone doesn't work.

The first time you speak, the browser asks to use the microphone: choose Allow. If you chose Block: on iPhone go to Settings → Safari → Microphone, choose Ask or Allow, then reload the page. Elsewhere, click the icon to the left of the address bar, set the microphone to Allow, then reload. If it still won't open, check whether another program is using it. You can also press 「打字说这一句」 (type this line) and type for now.

Speech recognition got my words wrong.

If the line has gone, press 「撤回」 (take back) beside it: the line and the reply to it are removed and you can say it again. When you see 「还没发出去」 (not sent yet), you can say it again or fix the wrong words; tick 「以后都先看文字再发」 to see every line first. A quieter room and a closer microphone help.

Limits and the trial

What does the free plan include? What is a "round"?

Each week, 2 live AI rounds (the characters answer what you actually say, with feedback at the end) and 3 scripted sessions (the lines are recorded in advance, and what you say is compared with the target phrasing). The review book is always available. Weeks start on Monday. When your live rounds are used up, the one you are in finishes, then practice turns scripted until next Monday.
A round here is a whole scene. The 「今天 x/30 轮」 counter at the top of the practice page counts exchanges, meaning the lines you say: at most 30 a day in live practice.

How does the trial work? Will I be charged?

No charge. Each account can try the member features once: 7 days, or 14 days if you signed up with a creator's code or link or named the creator who referred you. Start it on the pricing page (「开始 7 天免费试用」). No card is needed, and it goes back to the free plan by itself. During the trial, each day you can say up to 30 lines, make 2 scenes of your own and draw 5 AI pictures.

What do members get? How much is it?

「做我的场景」 (your own scenes, 5 a day), the persona card, branching out in review, AI pictures for phrases (20 a day) and connecting the AI you already use (Claude, ChatGPT and others). Live practice has no weekly limit, up to 80 lines a day. Prices are on the pricing page. Membership is not on sale yet; the free trial is open.

Payments

How do I cancel auto-renewal?

Open your account page and press 「取消自动续费」: one step, no need to write to us. Your membership runs to the end of the paid period and nothing more is charged. Until then you can undo it with 「恢复自动续费」.

How do I get a refund?

Your first payment can be refunded in full within 14 days: press 「申请全额退款」 on your account page, no reason needed. The same goes for a half-year or yearly renewal within 14 days of it. Monthly renewals generally aren't refunded. For a double charge, a wrong charge or anything else, write to hello@kaikouqian.com with your account email and the invoice number. Either way, we answer within 3 working days. Paddle, our reseller, refunds to your original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days of approval. See the full refund policy.

Will you remind me before a renewal?

Yes. Half-year and yearly plans get an email 35 and 7 days before; monthly plans get one 7 days before every 6th renewal. The first monthly renewal gets one too, 7 days ahead, which you can unsubscribe from. Every renewal is confirmed by email with a way to cancel, and Paddle sends the receipt and invoice separately.

Privacy and content

Who can hear my recordings?

While you hold to talk, your browser sends your voice straight to Microsoft Azure speech recognition to turn it into text. Recordings aren't saved; we only receive the text. In practice, the characters' live replies and the feedback are generated by Anthropic's Claude, which receives the round's text. Once a free account has used its weekly AI rounds, practice turns scripted: what you say is then only compared with the target phrasing on our own servers and is not sent to AI. How do I export my data or delete my account?

Both are on your account page. 「导出我的数据」 downloads a zip with your account, payments, practice records and files. 「删除账户」 removes your review book, the scenes and voices you made, your persona card and more. It can't be undone, and any auto-renewal is cancelled first. Payment and refund records are kept as tax rules require, no longer tied to your email. Export first if you want a copy.

What is made by AI?

The characters' lines and replies, the feedback, the scenes you make, pictures and Chinese explanations are all AI-generated and marked on the page. They can be wrong, so treat them as practice material. Where people have read an official scene's dialogue, its label on the practice page says so.

Region and contact

I am in mainland China, Hong Kong or Macau. Can I use it?

From 2026-11-12, AI practice is paused in these places, because the AI services we use do not operate there; we go by your network location. Scripted practice and the review book keep working. If you are a member and can't use it because of this, write to hello@kaikouqian.com: we refund the unused days and cancel the subscription. The site runs on servers abroad, so it can also be slow from there. A mainland version is in preparation.

Every page has a 「反馈」 (feedback) button in the corner, which tells us the scene you were on. You can also write to hello@kaikouqian.com. We reply within 2 working days (Monday to Friday, UAE time, except public holidays).
